I wrote a logline. I keep hearing varying reports as to how long a logline should be. Frustrating.
Now I need to write a synopsis. I started, but I think writing the script was easier. I might only give the synopsis to Mr. G. if he asks for it.
I guess right now there's a lot of waiting going on. I'm waiting for NaNoWriMo to start. I'm waiting for next week when I possibly get to meet with Mr. G. I'm waiting to hear back from Sofa Ink Quarterly. I'm waiting to hear back from Balderdash. Waiting.

Screenplay News
I have contacted the filmmaker and have received a response: He wants to read my screenplay!I still have to get back to him and set up a time to meet, write a treatment (possibly) and find some decent clothing to wear. I've written a logline that I'm semi-happy with. Must tweak with that. I'm more nervous about the verbal pitch...

Free at Last...or Not
I completed my online writing course a few hours ago, and just printed out the certificate of completion. I'm happy (insert smileys here.)
On the darker side of things, my Inner Editor will not shut up. I edit as I type. I edit as I read. I edit as I think. I cannot go on like this. I need to let the words flow and then go back and edit/re-write.
One day, I will get this write--I mean right.

Balderdash
"You Did This for Me" has been sent to "Balderdash." I've heard that their response-time is good, so I should be hearing from them within the next 2-3 weeks. So now I'm expecting four important emails:
1. Cat K.
2. The independent filmmaker
3. Sofa Ink Quarterly
4. Balderdash
Lots to look forward to.

Shorts and Stuff
Another short completed--"You Did This for Me," complete at 428 words. Now to find a place to submit it to... I've been through Writer's Market, but nothing jumped out at me. Oh well; try, try again.
Last week of my classes. Yeah! (Sorry, Ms. Shaw, for using that exclamation point.) That means NaNoWriMo is quickly approaching. Oh my, I think it starts in eight days. I really need to flesh out my outline soon.

Writing Portfolio
Once I've finished "Writeriffic,"I plan on adding the completion certificate to my non-existent writing portfolio. Well, the portfolio won't be non-existent for long, I hope.
I need to contact the editor at "The Coffee Press Journal" and ask for another copy of the edition my essay appeared in. I also need to sift through my writing and decide what I want to include. A good project for a rainy day ...and look! It's raining. The only problem is that it's night. "It was a dark, rainy night..." Okay, enough with the cliches.
Then I get to puzzle out how to organize it. Fun. actually, it does sound fun. Does that make me a nerd?
Oh, and I need to write out a resu'me' (I really wish I could do accents on this blog. Oh well.)
I'll keep myself posted on the progress. Yeah.

My Projects
Project: "The Method"
Medium: Screenplay
Genre: Comedy
Status: Complete
Page Count: 119
Word Count: 16,528
That was so much fun to write. It has been a challange to edit, but I think I have it where I want it. Right now I'm hoping to get some advice on where to go from here. There is a local screenwriter who might be able to offer me some advice. *Fingers crossed*
Project: "Ring of Oaths"
Medium: Novel
Genre: Fantasy
Status: To-be-written (Nov.)
It's almost that time of year, when thousands of crazy people around the world sit down and write a novel of 50k or more in 30 days or less. Yes, I count myself among them this year. Very excited.
Project: "Miss Overmyer, in the Kitchen With the Sugar Bowl"
Medium: Essay
Status: Complete
Page Count: 2
Word Count: 537
I just sent out a query email about this to Sofa Ink Quarterly. Within the next three months I'll know if they're interested or not.
Project: "Free Country" (WT)
Medium: Short story
Status: Cooling off before editing
I'm trying to decide whether I want to expand this story or not. The ending feels too abrupt. I think Annakeh and her book deserve more "screen-time;" so does the soldier. Once I'm finished, I have no idea where I want to market this.
Project: Cutter! Cut Her!
Medium: 10-minute play
Status: Cooling off before third re-write and many editing sessions
I've been getting all sorts of different feedback on this play. Some think it's too disturbing, some think it's near perfect, some think it needs a total makeover... This was really an uncomfortable and difficult subject for me, but at the same time a very cathartic experience.
